Reef Serenity
...my obsession has led me to this

About Me

There is no easier way to say it besides I'm a little off my rocker; and to the people that I'm blessed to call friends, thank you for all of your support.

I've always been fascinated with the underwater world. It started when I was a young kid and my dad would take me trout fishing in the Sierra Nevada's. The fascination progressed to where I started keeping fish tanks in college and I would feed my cichlids feeder goldfish for entertainment.  I dabbled in planted freshwater tanks and every though I enjoyed them, I've always been attracted to the bright colors of the fish, inverts and corals that are found throughout the oceans on the corals reefs.

When I stopped playing soccer on a daily basis, I needed to find another obsession. After vacationing for a week in Bora Bora, I found reef keeping was a perfect match. I am very fortunate to have the love and support of my wife Amanda because my passion for this hobby has at times consumed my life and I'm grateful everyday that she has helped push me further into the hobby at times, as well as, helping me see when I'm slightly too involved in the hobby.

Along the way of using being wet up to my elbows, I picked up another hobby that complements reef keeping very nicely; photography. I've gained a new appreciation for the smaller details, inside the tank and out, through the viewfinder of a camera. I am currently using a Nikon D90 and various Nikon lenses. This site is to share my tank and the images that I enjoy to capture and process.

May the force be with you...
